We brew and supply Actively Aerated Compost Tea (AACT) for local gardeners and landscape companies. We do this because on every level that we can observe, we see its benefits on the health and the vitality of plants and soil. It's like a probiotic juice drink for the earth!
Though "teas" for feeding gardens have ancient roots, Actively Aerated Compost Tea is a recent addition to the art and science of organic gardening practices. It's the oxygen in the water that creates an "aerobic" environment for the blooming of beneficial microbes, and that life combined with the nutrients in the soil feed what we now call the Soil Food Web.
With help of a microscope, we can visually observe the life created in the brewer! Here is 30 second video focused on a sample of our bacterial dominated tea. Most annual garden veggies thrive in bacteria dominated soils.
One of the most convincing studies confirming the reliability of Actively Aerated Compost Tea is from Harvard University. The hallmark of higher education converted all the university grounds to organic in 2009 after test results showed a marked improvement in the health and growth of the lawn and surrounding trees.
